Mike Meyer Morgue File

The Morgue File brings together clippings and other ephemera gathered by Mike Meyer over the years as inspiration for signs and lettering. The book is a collaboration between Mike Meyer, Better Letters, designer Alice Mazzilli, printers 12–B and paper merchants G.F Smith. Printed by Risograph on Munken (main pages) and Colorplan (cover and section dividers), each cover has been hand stamped by Mike Meyer.

The book officially launched at Greetings from Amsterdam (26 August), and unofficially at an event in London (13 September). It is available exclusively from A.S.Handover, via their online shop and London outlet.

Here are some behind the scenes videos and photos showing some of the production process for this book, and visit the shop to see other goodies from Better Letters.

Mike Meyer Alphabets: New Workshop Sheets

Participants in Mike Meyer’s Hand Lettering Workshop now have access to this all-in-one learning resource, detailing the main alphabets covered in the two-day event: Gothic; Thick ‘n’ Thin; Casual; and Script. They’ve been debuting on his current tour of Europe, next stop Milan, and will also be used at forthcoming events in Hamilton and Mazeppa, and beyond.

The sheets were a collaboration with design (and photography above) by Gloria Soria, printed on Colorplan paper from G.F Smith, with sponsorship from 1 Shot paints and a special offer for all workshop attendees from our wonderful paint, brushes and sundries supplier A.S.Handover.

Thank you to all involved, visit the workshops page to see where you can next get your hands on one…

Man with a Brush

Man with a Brush is a short film about Mike Meyer, Sign Painter, produced and directed by the team at Dimension 2. Following a couple of exclusive screenings of the full length version, a shorter edit has now been released on NOWNESS.

Thank you to Joe and Adam for getting us involved in the project which was a massive undertaking across many states of the USA. The final result is a beautiful short film and we look forward to seeing details of the full length version when it goes on more general release. For now, feast your eyes and ears on the film above.
